Today our volunteer Randolph (and Basil) trained new St Mary's volunteer Irinia on how to locate and check the permanent monitoring stations 

This wednesday afternoon's 'Seabird Safari' with St Agnes Boating saw lots of Manx shearwaters and the number of puffins arriving back on the islands increasing. 

Each Friday our wildlife guides onboard Scillion III Ferry point out the wildlife seen from the boat to the passengers. This week they saw dolphon and over 80 Manx shearwaters.

Thanks to St Agnes and St Mary's community members for joining the project today to undertake 'rat monitoring' refresher training.

We heard our first cuckoo on Gugh today! This picture is from volunteer Amy Horn Norris last year, could be the same bird!  

Today Year 2 Conservation and Countryside Management students from Duchy College, Cornwall learnt all about the project, visiting Manx shearwater nesting sites, learning about ongoing biosecurity and viewing the nesting colonies of kittiwakes and Lesser black-backed gulls on Gugh. 

Tonight we saw the first puffins we have seen this back on the 'Western rocks island of Rosevear'

Walk Scilly 'St Agnes - Land, Sea & Air'. Today Guide Bob Dawson delivered a walk on St Agnes to visitors , they saw Hoopoe, Fulmars and learnt all about the project whilst out and about on St Agnes.
