Today a journalist and photographer from ‘Geographical magazine’ visited the project to report on our work. 

It was a choppy survey around the Northern rocks today - but auk numbers were definitely good in the chop!

This week we had interpreters on both the Friday and Saturday boats - lots of Manx shearwaters were seen by the passengers, and there was a Sooty shearwater on Friday's return trip too!

Jaclyn held a project workshop for the BSc Zoology students, University of Exeter (Falmouth Campus) who are currently on the islands for their second year field trip. Feedback was very positive and we may have 20+ new project volunteers! 

 Project may assist wider species such as Oil beetles? We are finding lots of Black Oil Beetles on St Agnes and Gugh at the moment 

Today the seabird team headed to the most important seabird island on Scilly - Annet. The number of Manx shearwater burrows which were 'apparently occcupied' appear to have incraesed...fingers crossed!  

Stunnning weather, amazing widlife and Manx shearwaters flying past - what a treat for the walkers on todays walk.

Each Friday our wildlife guides onboard Scillion III Ferry point out the wildlife seen from the boat to the passengers. This week the guide saw approx. 400 Manx shearwaters!

We also welcome visiting schools to take part in our activities, and today we had a seabird field trip on St Agnes 

The team were delighted today that the number of Manx shearwater burrows seems to have incraesed on both St Agnes and Gugh!
