We have recorded 27 Manx shearwater chicks emerging from burrows on St Agnes and Gugh during evening surveys for the past three weeks evening surveys. We are delighted that numebrs are increasing!
Date with Nature walks start on Tresco today. These 45 minute walks start every hour from 10am to 3pm. The walks will continue until Saturday 19th September.
For the past 2 weeks (late August to early September) the team have been collating evidence of Manx shearwater chicks fledging from St Agnes and Gugh - so far we have recorded 24 birds!

Thanks to all the residents and visitors who came to play the 'Manx shearwater game' - well the children - adults cant really fit through the 'burrow' to feed the toy chick! And thanks to those who made a badge or anenome!
During May, June, July and September we record the number of rabbits seen in a transect on St Agnes and Gugh and at a control site on St Mary's. We do this at duck with a head torch, walking a constant pace and recording how many pairs of eyes we see relecting in the torch light upto a distance of 50m. Thanks to all the volunters who have assisted this year.
