Under threat...The Isles of Scilly hold 3,000 fewer pairs of breeding seabirds than 25 years ago
Last night Cllr and St Agnes Representative Richard McCarthy and resident birder Doug Bird assisted with the ‘chick checks’ walks. We were delighted to record 4 Manx shearwater chicks outside (or just peeping outside) their burrows on Gugh, and then hear one storm petrel chick calling amongst bolder and vegetation. The team continued the surveys and recorded another 4 Manx shearwater chicks. Thanks to Nick Tomalin for the pictures
